Red Rock Real Estate
Red Rock is an unincorporated Bastrop County community about 21 miles southwest of the City of Bastrop, Texas. First settled and named Hannah Land in the 1850s, Red Rock would eventually get its name from the from the red rock chimney of James Brewer, the community's first settler. Perfect for those who are seeking a home or farm and ranch land with plenty of open spaces and removed from busier cities, Red Rock is just about as small a community as anywhere in the country.
Population estimates project Red Rock currently has a total of about 100 residents, leaving them a true sense of peace and quiet on Central Texas' open prairies. In Red Rock you are sure to find more cattle, horses and other livestock than noisy neighbors. Red Rock once prospered in the early 1900s as a center for the cotton market and as an oil-drilling site during the 1920s and 1930s but has not exceeded its highest population of 500 people during 1909. Today, Red Rock remains primarily a cattle and agricultural area with sparse population and huge tracts of land for homeowners who either prefer their privacy or are engaged in agricultural or cattle raising ventures.
Red Rock real estate is wide open for development, including new ranching and farming operations, but there are homes for sale on existing developed land, too.
